Education and Appointments
Yang Yang, male, was born in Feb. 1974 in Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province. He was awarded with bachelor’s degree and master’s degree by Department of Radio Engineering of Southeast University in 1996 and 1999 respectively, and doctor’s degree in information engineering by Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002. Then, he worked as an assistant professor with Information Engineering Department of Chinese University of Hong Kong. Starting from Aug. 2003, he served as a lecturer with Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Brunel University. In Mar. 2005, he went to UCL and worked as a lecturer with Electronics and Electric Engineering Department and latter promoted as a senior lecturer (permanent position, equivalent to deputy professor of U.S. education system). In Apr. 2008, he was employed as a research fellow by The SIMIT, CAS, and worked as assistant director and deputy chief engineer of Shanghai Research Center for Wireless Communications.Doctor Yang Yang has published over 50 research papers on international periodicals and conferences concerning 3G/4G Mobile Communication Network, Wireless Sensor and MESH Network, Dynamic Wireless Resource Allocation Arithmetic, MAC, Wireless Multi-media Business Flow Feature Analysis, Cross-layer Performance Analysis and Optimization and Mobile Self-organizing Network. He has won the title of China-UK Outstanding Visiting Scholar (2008), Specially Invited Visiting Scholar of BT Group (2004) and Young Scientist Prize of Hong Kong Academy of Sciences (2003). Now, He is an editor for five international periodicals, visiting editor of Computer Communications (2006) and IEEE Network Magazine (2007). He had ever participated in the organization of more than 30 international academic conferences. He is the chairman of wireless branch of 2006-2009 ACM IWCMC, vice chairman of technical committee of ICCCN'09, chairman of wireless branch of Broadnets'08 and chairman of wireless access branch of 2008 IEEE VTC'08.
